Ex-Mungiki leader Maina Njenga’s lawyer Ndegwa Njiru on Sunday, October 15 refuted claims that Brian Mwenda appeared at Makadara Law Courts during the arraignment of his client.
In a statement on X, Ndegwa stated that the alleged imposter lawyer had no instructions to either appear or represent Maina Njenga.
“I have seen from the media reports that Mr. Mwenda the questionable lawyer appeared at Makadara Law Courts during the arraignment of my client Mr. Maina Njenga,” Ndegwa wrote.
“I thus wish to confirm that the said individual had no instructions to appear and/or purport to represent Mr. Maina,” he added.
Further, the lawyer while addressing supporters of Brian Mwenda, whom he labelled a ‘quack lawyer’ said he would be charged with false pretense for the 26 cases he claims to have won.

“They should also note that in all those purported 26 files that he prides himself on having won, each file will constitute a charge for obtaining by false pretense among others,” he wrote.
LSK Calls for Brian’s Arrest
However, the President of the Law Society of Kenya Eric Theuri while calling for his arrest noted that Brian is not a hero but a fugitive running from the law
“Brian Mwenda is not a hero. He is a fugitive running from the law,” he said in a press interview.
Moreover, the LSK president noted that the claims that Brian had won 26 cases was false.
“Allegations that the masquerader Brian Mwenda won 26 cases is false and misleading,” the LSK President noted.
This comes after some people branded him a hero in the social media accounts since the issue was raised.
Leaders Support Brian Mwenda
Nonetheless, a section of Kenyans including prominent leaders like Mike Sonko and COTU boss Francis Atwoli expressed their support for Brian Mwenda.

Former Nairobi Governor, Mike Mbuvi Sonko, said he would support the lawyer to fulfil his dream, noting that he was innocent until proven guilty.
“I still maintain that my future lawyer Brian Mwenda is innocent until proven guilty,” Sonko said.
The former governor also promised to escort Brian to the DCI on Monday, October 16 to record a statement.
“I am with him in Mombasa until Monday when we shall present him to the DCI to record a statement,” he added.
On the other hand, Central Organization of Trade Unions, COTU (K) boss Francis Atwoli pledged to offer support to Mwenda to ensure he realized his dreams.
“COTU (K), would like to inform Brian Njagi that we are available and ready to support him to ensure that his dreams are actualized,” he said.
