Mama Ngina Kenyatta has dared the government to move to court over claims that her family evaded taxation.
The former first lady while speaking on Saturday, February 4 during the opening ceremony of Tewa Catholic Church in Lamu County stated that it is a fact that everyone is required to pay tax. She also added that the politicians were spreading lies so that they are seen to be working.
Mama Ngina’s remarks came following the recent political tumult accusing her family of tax evasion.
Moreover, the former first lady noted that tax matters need to be addressed through state channels and courts if need be. She further challenged the state to move to court if their family has not paid tax rather than talking in the media.

Ukikosa Kulipa ile unatakiwa kulipa lazima mali yako itachukuliwa itauzwa. Ile line ya kufuata ushuru haijalilipwa iko,” she added.
Likewise, mama Ngina stated that it is wrong to utter and politicize some issues knowing they were false.
She further dared the government to auction her properties if they discover she has been evading tax.
Na watu wanajua hawasemi ukweli ,” she stated.
