Miguna Writes to Billionaire Elon Musk Over Error

He raised concerns that the system had assigned him Finland as his default country for Twitter Monetization.

Controversial lawyer Miguna Miguna on Wednesday, August 2 wrote to Elon Musk over an error on his Twitter account.

Miguna raised concerns that the system had assigned him Finland as his default country for Twitter Monetization.

You erroneously assigned me Finland as my default country in the express Stripe account for monetization.

I have tried to correct your error so that I can link my account, but your system is locked to Finland. At the same time, Miguna expressed his frustrations over what he described as the irresponsiveness of the company to his enquiries.

“Stripe has advised me that you are the only ones who can correct the error. But your DMs are locked and DMs to @XCreators aren’t being responded to,” Miguna wrote.

The vocal lawyer further shared his email address with Musk with the hope that the company addresses his concerns expeditiously.

Moreover, Miguna’s statement sparked mixed reactions from Kenyans on Twitter with one hilariously replying ‘The general is fearless. He is calling out Elon Musk to express his disappointment!’

The verified Stripe account is a requirement for monetization of a tweeter account. Other standards for monetization include residing in a country in which Twitter’s monetization programs are available.

In addition, one should also be at least 18 years old, and your account must have been active for the last three months among other standards outlined on the platform.

Twitter rebranding 

Twitter has undergone massive changes since Elon Musk took over as the Company CEO.

The changes from the popular blue bird logo to an X logo and verified accounts having to pay for their blue verification badge.

Musk also changed the API access as he introduced a mandatory pay of $100 for one to have access.

He also eliminated the use of bots on twitter. In tweets and retweets, now users can see the number of users who viewed the tweet.

Twitter also intends to introduce Artificial Intelligence on the platform in a bid to eradicate manipulation of public opinion.

What’s more, to prevent harm, according to Musk, Twitter will not allow users to share their live location and anyone that does so risk suspension.

Since Musk’s twitter take over, the giant company has made several changes to its outlook and the overall user access options.

Kenya deported Miguna twice to Canada after his involvement in the controversial swearing in of the then Nasa Leader Raila Odinga in 2017 as the People’s President.

President William Ruto’s government reinstated his citizenship and allowed him to return to Kenya after the August 2022 General Election.
