President Yoweri Museveni’s son, Gen. Muhoozi Kainerugaba, who currently serves as Uganda’s Chief of Defence Forces (CDF), has threatened to arrest Uganda’s head of the police Criminal Investigations Directorate (CID), Maj Tom Magambo.

In a statement, Muhoozi said people will be arrested in Uganda on Sunday, February 23, including Magambo and his team.

“People are going to be arrested today starting with Tom Magambo and his whole department! He knows what he has done,” Muhoozi said.

Muhoozi said the CID would be the first culprit, but several others would follow.

Muhoozi to Punish Those Doubting His Position

Additionally, Muhoozi said he is the head of the Uganda People’s Defence Forces (UPDF) and the Uganda Police Force (UPF).

He threatened to punish people opposed to his powers as the CDF.

“As CDF I control both UPDF and UPF! If anyone has any issues with that he will see,” Muhoozi.

Wearing NUP Uniform Banned

He also warned Ugandans against wearing the uniforms of the National Unity Platform (NUP) which is lead by opposition leader Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu, popularly known as Bobi Wine.

Muhoozi said the forces will not arrest Ugandans found wearing NUP uniforms instead they will be killed.

“From now on if we find anyone wearing a NUP uniform we will kill them! No questions!” Muhoozi said.

“There will be no arrests! Those who think I am joking retweet. Those who think I’m serious like.”

He posted a photo of Ugandans wearing the NUP uniform with the caption “This is illegal! Let them do it again and we see who survives.”

Warning to Bobi Wine

Further, Muhoozi warned Bobi Wine against talking about linking Museveni with the atrocities befalling him.

Muhoozi was responding to a statement by Bobi Wine, in which the opposition leader claimed that his life was in danger.

He confirmed that he was the one pursuing Bobi Wine, adding that the opposition leader has not seen anything yet.

“Stop talking about Mzee, you baboon! I am responsible! And you haven’t felt me yet,” he said.

Taking Besigye Back to Court Martial

Gen. Muhoozi also mentioned that Dr. Kizza Besigye may taken back to the court martial.

He emphasized that this decision depends on his actions and those of his wife, Winnie Byanyima.

“By the way I may bring Besigye back to General Court Martial. It depends on how Besigye behaves. If Winnie even utters the names of my father or mother, Besigye will be back in General Court Martial,” he said.

“It’s only my dad delaying me. I would have slaughtered Winnie a long time ago.”
