Sports Cabinet Secretary (CS) Ababu Namwamba has responded to the viral video where a lady and an armed man were seen harassing staff at a hospital using his name.
Namwamba in a statement distanced himself from the two individuals who were filmed causing chaos at Port Victoria in Busia County where Namwamba hails from.
Further, the CS explained that the actions associated with him in the said video do not align with his values or commitment to public service.
“I want to directly address the recent discussions surrounding my name. The actions associated with me do not align with my values or commitment to public service. I unequivocally condemn any behavior against principles of integrity,” Namwamba said in part.
Further, Namwamba assured that investigations were underway, and that actions would be taken to correct the mistake.
“I am thoroughly investigating these allegations and will take decisive actions to rectify any wrongdoing. My commitment to serving you remains unwavering, and I am dedicated to rebuilding trust through transparency and corrective measures. Thank you for your understanding during this challenging time,” Namwamba said.
How The Two Used Ababu Namwamba
In the video that went viral, the lady was seen harassing a female staff at the hospital while demanding immediate attention to her patient.
At some point, she threatened to call CS Namwamba if they don’t meet her demands.
“You are a stupid woman, yes, I behave like that. I have an emergency, let me call Ababu,” shouts the lady as she scatters things that were on top of the table.

The hospital staff is heard defending herself that she could not attend to the patient under such circumstances.
“I am not handling the patient and I have a right, whatever you have done here can been seen,” said the staff.
Afterwards, the lady and the woman were seen dialing their phones while still hurling abuses at the staff.
“You need to grow up. Which right do you have,” says the lady.

“This is how you kill people here; I have brought a patient and it’s an emergency, she cannot breathe,” added the lady.
She goes ahead to threaten the staff to record everything including her face is she wants to.
