How Much Kenyans Will Pay to Visit National Parks Under New KWS Fees

The Kenya Wildlife Service (KWS) has released its 2026 fees for national parks, sanctuaries and marine protected areas, setting out the charges payable by East African citizens visiting various wildlife and conservation sites.

Under the new fee schedule, charges vary depending on the category of the park and whether the visitor is an adult or a child/student.

KWS National Park Entry Fees

According to KWS, adults visiting Amboseli and Lake Nakuru National Parks will pay KSh1,500, while children and students will pay KSh750.

Nairobi National Park will charge KSh1,000 for adults and KSh500 for children or students.

A Nairobi package covering Nairobi National Park, Nairobi Animal Orphanage and Nairobi Safari Walk will cost KSh1,300 for adults and KSh700 for children or students.

Scenic sites charge KSh500 for adults and KSh250 for children or students, including Hells Gate, Mt. Longonot, Mt. Elgon, Ol Donyo Sabuk, Lake Elmenteita Wildlife Sanctuary, Shimba Hills, and Kakamega National Reserves.

Special interest parks include Mwea, Ruma, Saiwa Swamp, South Turkana, Sibiloi, Central Island, South Island, Ndere Island, Malka Mari, Chyullu Hills and Marsabit National Parks.

Sanctuaries, Marine areas and Camping fees

KWS also notes that entry to Nairobi Animal Orphanage, Nairobi Safari Walk, and Kisumu Impala Sanctuary costs KSh300 for adults and KSh200 for children or students.

The Nairobi Sanctuary Package, covering Nairobi Animal Orphanage and Nairobi Safari Walk, will cost KSh500 for adults and KSh300 for children or students.

Marine protected areas, including Kisite Mpunguti, Watamu, Mombasa, Malindi, Kiunga, and Diani Chale, will charge KSh500 for adults and KSh250 for children or students.

For camping, special campsites in Amboseli and Lake Nakuru will cost KSh500 for adults and KSh250 for children or students. Special campsites in other parks will cost KSh250 for adults and KSh200 for children or students.

Public campsites in Amboseli and Lake Nakuru will charge KSh250 for adults and KSh200 for children or students, while public campsites in other parks will cost KSh200 for adults and KSh150 for children or students.

KWS has also set a non-refundable reservation fee of KSh10,000 per week for special campsites. Terms and conditions apply to the fee schedule.
