Police in Nairobi are investigating the suspicious death of George Kithinji, aged 35, whose body was discovered in a yam plantation in Kahawa West’s Soweto informal settlement on April 25th.
According to reports, Kithinji had been fatally stabbed, and police found bloodstains on the mattress in his house. Two blood-stained kitchen knives were recovered from the property and are currently being held as evidence.
The investigation revealed that Kithinji was likely killed in his house before his body was taken to the farm. This theory is supported by the discovery of bloodstains in his home. When a mob realized that Kithinji might have been killed in his house and his body was taken to the farm, they attacked his wife with blows and stones. Thankfully, the police were able to intervene and rescue her.

The motive behind the incident remains unknown, and police are urging anyone with information to come forward. Kithinji’s wife was taken to the hospital for treatment, while Kithinji’s body was taken to the mortuary for an autopsy.

The police have since picked up the body and taken it to the mortuary for identification and autopsy.
Another incident occurred in Ruiru, where a man named Isaac Waweru Mwangi, aged 40, was found dead behind the Powerstar supermarket. No visible injuries were found on the body, and it has been moved to the General Kago Funeral home, awaiting a postmortem examination.
The rise in these fatal domestic fights is a worrying trend that authorities closely monitor. Police are urging individuals to seek help if they are experiencing domestic violence or know someone who is.
