The Premier League ends on Sunday, May 19, with the title, European spots, and several individual awards still to be decided.

This will be the 10th time the Premier League title is decided on the final day of the season.

Manchester City moved two points clear at the top of the table after defeating Tottenham 2-0 on Tuesday, May 14, putting them just one win away from claiming a record fourth successive Premier League title.

Pep Guardiola’s side will be hosting West Ham, but if they slip up, Arsenal is poised to capitalize, sitting two points behind their title rivals.

Mikel Arteta’s side will be facing Everton hoping to clinch their first premier league trophy since 2004.

If Arsenal wins and Manchester City draws with West Ham, Arsenal will be crowned champions based on goal difference.

Currently, Arsenal has a goal difference of +61 compared to City’s +60.

However, if the goal difference is also tied, the title will come down to goals scored, with City leading with 93 goals compared to Arsenal’s 89.

Where is the Premier League Trophy on the Final Day?

The Premier League trophy will be at the Etihad and Emirates Stadium during the final matches.

The reality is that there are two identical Premier League trophies.

One resides with the league champions for the year of their reign while the Premier League keeps another for its own use and promotional activities.

There will also be identical podiums and pyrotechnics in place at each ground and the trophy will not be engraved until after it has been lifted by the champions.

A set of 40 medals is to be distributed among the winning squad and staff will also be available at both stadiums.

Manchester City, Arsenal, Liverpool, and Aston Villa have secured Champions League football, but the Europa League and Conference League places remain up for grabs.

Europa League Race

As it stands, a fifth-place finish secures UEFA Europa League qualification, which Tottenham will guarantee if they avoid defeat at relegated side Sheffield United.

However, if Spurs lose at Bramall Lane, Chelsea can move into fifth place if they beat Bournemouth at home.

Mauricio Pochettino’s side currently sits in sixth place, which means they will play in the Europa Conference League as it stands.

Chelsea will secure sixth place if they do not lose to Bournemouth.

However, a win for Newcastle against Brentford and a defeat for Chelsea would see Eddie Howe’s side leapfrog the Blues into sixth spot.

Manchester United, who are level on points with Newcastle, are unlikely to move above Chelsea due to their inferior goal difference.

However, there is twist, depending on the FA Cup winners, who will also receive a Europa League place.

Manchester City will face Manchester United at Wembley on Saturday, May 25.

If City wins the FA Cup and, since they have already secured Champions League football, their Europa League place will go to the team finishing sixth in the Premier League.

As a result, the Conference League place will go to the side finishing seventh – currently Newcastle, although United will move above them if they win at Brighton and Howe’s side slips up against Brentford.

Consequently, if Manchester United wins the FA Cup, they would take the second Europa League spot, and whoever ends up in sixth will drop into the Conference League.

Luton on the Brink to Exit Premier League

Sheffield United and Burnley will return to the Championship after being relegated, and they will almost certainly be joined by Luton.

Only the identity of the third side to be relegated is left to be decided, and it will require an incredible final-day turnaround for it to not be Luton Town.

For Luton to survive, they need to beat Fulham at home, hoping Nottingham Forest loses to Burnley, and achieve a goal difference swing of 12.

A Nottingham Forest point or Luton failure to win would guarantee safety for Forest.

Golden Boot

Erling Haaland is five goals clear of nearest rival Cole Palmer in the race for the Premier League’s Golden Boot, awarded to the leading scorer.

Haaland has scored seven goals in his last four league matches and sits on 27 goals going into City’s encounter with West Ham.

Meanwhile, Ollie Watkins is likely to finish top of the assist charts, with the Aston Villa striker on 13.

Palmer, Kevin De Bruyne, Kieran Trippier, Mohamed Salah, Anthony Gordon, Pascal Gross and Morgan Gibbs-White are tied in second with 10.

Arsenal’s David Raya has already secured the Golden Glove for the goalkeeper with the most clean sheets.

Remarkably, Andre Onana is set to end the season with the most saves of any goalkeeper. The Man Utd stopper has 147.
