An employee of the Siaya County government has been reported missing. According to a statement by the county government, the worker, Nicholas Ooro, was last seen at work on Monday, February 26, evening.
On Tuesday, February 27, morning, his uniform was found at the premises of the office of the Siaya County governor, torn and strewn within the compound.
Further, the county official indicated that police officers said that there was a possibility of scuffle within the compound before Ooro went missing.
“Nicholas Ooro has gone missing since Tuesday, February 27, 2024. He reported to duty on Monday, February 26, taking over from his colleague at about 18:45 hours. In the morning of February 27, a colleague who was supposed to take over from him did not find him at his workstation.
“Instead, a visibly torn uniform, shirt and a Barret that presumably belonged to Ooro were spotted strewn within the premises. His mobile phone was also found at the scene,” the statement read in part.

Family of the Missing Siaya County Employee Plead for Help
Ooro’s sister pleaded with the county government to help them find their kin, adding that the family had not received any news on his whereabouts.
“I received a call informing me that my brother who was working for the county government was missing. We are still searching for him, we have not seen him, and we do not know of his whereabouts.
“We are pleading with members of the public and the government to help us bring him home,” she said.

Police Hunt for Missing Belgian Malinois Dog
In a separate incident on February 7, police officers in Meru County launched a search operation for a missing female Belgian Malinoi police dog, putting out notices to members of the public to help find the canine.
According to a police report, the dog went missing after a feeding routine. The authorities launched a search operation, deploying a search team to scour the area to recover the seven-year-old brown and tan canine named Jet.
“We attach much love to police dogs. She is like a police officer hence the mobilization to get her,” an officer said.
