Azimio leader Raila Odinga says the government must consult Kenyans before introducing new taxation measures.
The ODM leader wants President William Ruto to call for public participation before increasing taxes.
Raila is accusing the Head of State of trying to implement policies without going through the right legal channels.

Further, Raila wants any proposal to increase taxes to go through Parliament before being implemented.
According to Raila, Ruto is not considering the effect of the proposed tax increments on already overburdened Kenyans.
“The decision to increase taxes needs public participation. There should be no taxation without representation,” said Raila.
On his part, Wiper party leader Kalonzo Musyoka asked the Kenya Kwanza administration to cushion Kenyans from the high cost of essential commodities and famine, instead of increasing taxes.
President Ruto is encouraging Kenyans to pay taxes to enable the government realize an annual revenue collection target Sh6 trillion by 2027.
Already, the Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA), has embarked on tax reform measures that could see every Kenyan above 18 years brought into the tax bracket.
The KRA records indicate that it collects about Sh1.88 trillion in taxes annually.
The collection is slightly above half of total national annual expenditure budget.
