President William Ruto has appointed Dr. Charles Olang’o Onudi as the Non-Executive Chairperson of the Jaramogi Oginga Odinga Teaching and Referral Hospital (JOOTRH).
Olango’s appointment was made through a gazette notice dated November 7, 2025.
Dr. Onudi will serve in the position for a three-year term, effective November 7.

“In exercise of the powers conferred by paragraph 7 (1) (a) of the Jaramogi Oginga Odinga Teaching and Referral Hospital Order, 2025, I, William Samoei Ruto, President of the Republic of Kenya and Commander in Chief of the Defence Forces, appoint Dr. Olang’o Onudi to be the Non-Executive Chairperson of the Jaramogi Oginga Odinga Teaching and Referral Hospital, for a period of three years, with effect from November 7, 2025,” read part of the notice.

Dr.Olang’o Onudi Education and Career
Dr. Onudi has previously served in several senior roles within Kisumu County, including as a member of the County Executive Committee and later as the County Secretary.
He served as Kisumu County Secretary in an acting capacity. In 2019, he participated in discussions with the National Union of Nurses that led to the suspension of a strike that had paralyzed the county health sector.
In 2010, his appointment as Director of the Kenya Medical Training College (KMTC) by then-Medical Services Minister Anyang’ Nyong’o sparked controversy and caused an uproar in Parliament.

CJ Koome Announces Leadership Changes in Auctioneers Board
Meanwhile, in a separate notice, Chief Justice Martha Koome announced changes in the leadership of the Auctioneers Licensing Board.
Koome appointed Njeri Thuku as Chairperson, Festus Terer as Secretary, and Harrison Barasa as Member.
The *appointment of Felix Kombo, Antony Mwicigi, and Stella Atambo is revoked.

Under section 3(1)(c)—Harrison Barasa — Member, to be member of the Auctioneers Licensing Board, for a period of three (3) years, with effect from 10th November 2025. The appointment of Felix Kombo, Antony Mwicigi, and Stella Atambo is revoked.”
At the same time, Roads and Transport Cabinet Secretary Davis Chirchir has appointed Anne Njeri Gitau as a member of the Aeronautical Search and Rescue Committee.
The appointment, effective November 7, 2025, will last for one year.
“In exercise of the powers conferred by regulation 15(2)(m) of the Civil Aviation (Aeronautical Search and Rescue) Regulations, the Cabinet Secretary for Roads and Transport appoints: Anne Njerio Gitauto be a Member of the Aeronautical Search and Rescue Committee for a period of one (1) year, with effect from 7th November, 2025,’ the notice read.
