President William Ruto has reassigned former Defense Cabinet Secretary (CS) Aden Duale to the Ministry of Environment, Climate Change, and Forestry.
President Ruto reassigned his Cabinet appointees, switching Aden Duale from the Ministry of Defense and handing the docket to fellow Cabinet appointee and former Environment CS Soipan Tuya.
Duale confirmed the reassignment in a statement on Tuesday, July 23, 2024, shortly after an announcement by National Assembly Speaker Moses Wetangula.
“I am Grateful to President William Ruto for reassigning me from the Defense Ministry to the Ministry of Environment, Climate Change, and Forestry. I look forward to serving in my new portfolio and ensuring focus is on sustainable environmental management, combating climate change, and promoting reforestation and conservation efforts,” said Duale.
“Indeed, ‘And it may be that you dislike a thing which is good for you and that you like a thing which is bad for you. Allah knows but you do not know”
