President William Ruto on Friday, July 19, nominated Mr. Julius Migos Ogamba for the Cabinet Secretary in the Ministry of Education position. If approved by parliament Migosi will take over from Dr. Ezekiel Machogu.
Prior to his nomination, Migosi served as the chairman at the Kenya Electricity Generating Company PLC (KENGEN) replacing former Kenya Defense Forces Chief of Defense Forces Samson Mwathethe who served in the position since November 2020.
He was tasked with leading the board in providing insights and governance so as he could ensure that the electricity producer remained in sustainable business.
Further, Ogamba was a Commissioner for Oaths, a Notary Public and a member of the Law Society of Kenya.
Notably, Ogamba is an accomplished advocate with nearly 30 years of legal practice experience who has earned a reputation for providing high-quality legal assistance to a varied portfolio of clients across a wide range of industries.
In the year 2022, Ezekiel Machogu picked Ogamba as his running mate for the gubernatorial race in Kisii county on UDA party ticket but lost it to the current governor Simba Arati.
However, Migosi had vied for Kitutu Chache North parliamentary seat during 2017 general elections on the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) ticket but lost it to Jimmy Angwenyi.
