Nominated Senator Maureen Tabitha Mutinda has been elected as a member of the board of the Parliamentary Network (PN) on the World Bank and the International Monetary Fund (IMF).
In an official communication to the Senate on Wednesday, October 8, 2025, afternoon Speaker Amason Kingi announced that Senator Mutinda had been elected to the board for the term 2025-2027 and lauded her for the appointment.
“The board of governance is charged with the responsibility of setting the strategic agenda and providing guidance for the activities of the Parliamentary network. The Senator will represent the East Africa region within the board,” read part of the statement.
The announcement follows the online elections held between August 25 and September 5, 2025, to determine the composition of the 2025-2027 PN Board of Governance.
The new board will take office on October 13, during the parliamentary engagements at the World Bank and IMF Annual Meetings.
The Parliamentary Network on the World Bank and the International Monetary Fund is an independent inter-parliamentary organization that aims to increase transparency and accountability in international financial institutions, particularly the World Bank Group and the IMF.
“Senator Maureen Tabitha Mutinda possesses a comprehensive background in advancing environmental stewardship and gender equality, with significant experience serving in various Senate committees and international organizations,” reads part of Senator Tabitha’s biography on the Parliamentary Network’s website.

Profile of Senator Tabitha Mutinda
The senator holds several leadership positions, including Vice Chairperson of the Kenyan Chapter of the Parliamentary Network on the World Bank and IMF, Vice Chairperson of Kenya Women Senators, and Vice Chairperson of the Senate Finance and Budget Committee.
Additionally, she is a member of the Senate Business Committee, the Senate Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries Committee, and the County Public Investment and Special Funds Committee
Outside her legislative roles, Mutinda serves as the Director and Chief Executive Officer of Novamont Kenya Limited and is Vice-President of the World Scout Parliamentary Union (WSPU).
Senator Tabitha holds an academic qualification in Business Management and is currently pursuing a PhD in Business Development.

“This engagement fosters collaboration between developed and developing nations. This can lead to partnerships that focus on shared goals, such as sustainable development, poverty reduction, and climate resilience, benefiting the PN regions,” the Parliamentary Network notes.
Sven Clement — a Member of Parliament for Luxembourg’s Center district since October 2018, representing the Pirate Party — is set to serve as the board chair of the 2025–2027 PN Board of Governance.
The vice chairs of the board will be Senator Neila Tazi of Morocco and Senegalese Member of Parliament Aissata Tall Sall. Other members include Senator Tabitha Mutinda, along with parliamentarians from the United Kingdom, Angola, Mexico, Spain, and Pakistan.
