Vivo Energy has completed the acquisition of 100% of the shares in TotalEnergies Marketing Jordan.
In a press statement dated July 2, 2026, the company announced that the transaction, first announced in November 2025, gives Vivo Energy downstream operations in Jordan, including 180 service stations, commercial fuels operations, and lubricant businesses.
“Vivo Energy, the leading African energy distribution company which now operates around 4,200 service stations across 29 markets, has today completed the acquisition of TotalEnergies Marketing Jordan, including its network of around 180 service stations, as well as its commercial fuels and lubricants operations,” read the statement.
The deal also paves the way for the introduction of Vivo Energy’s flagship retail brand, Engen, into the Middle East market.
The acquisition follows months of regulatory approvals and the fulfillment of conditions precedent, all of which are now complete.

By entering Jordan, Vivo Energy is taking its first step into the Middle East, a region widely regarded for strong market fundamentals and long-term growth opportunities.
The acquisition includes an established retail network of approximately 180 service stations, with commercial fuel distribution and lubricants operations.
Vivo Energy Group Chief Executive Officer Stan Mittelman described the acquisition as a milestone in the company’s expansion beyond Africa.
“This is an important milestone for Vivo Energy as we expand beyond Africa into Jordan – a market with strong fundamentals and a team we have great respect for,” Mittelman said.
According to Mittelman, Vivo Energy’s business model is built around local management teams and community-focused customer service, which would play a role in the company’s operations in Jordan.
Engen Brand Set for Rollout Across Jordan
Through the acquisition, the Engen brand will be introduced into Jordan, which is fully owned by Vivo Energy and currently operates in 13 markets and is one of Africa’s most recognizable fuel retail brands.
In South Africa, where Engen remains the country’s leading fuel brand, the company operates more than 1,000 service stations and accounts for approximately one in every four liters of fuel sold nationally.
Following the completion of the acquisition, the TotalEnergies brand will gradually be replaced by Engen branding across service stations in Jordan over the coming months.
