The Kenya Meteorological Department (Kenya Met) has released its weather forecast for the period between July 16 and July 22, predicting a mix of rainfall, cold nights, and high daytime temperatures across various regions of the country.
According to the seven-day forecast, rainfall is expected to persist over several areas in the Highlands East of the Rift Valley, those in West of the Rift Valley, the Central Rift Valley, and Northwestern Kenya.
These regions will continue to receive intermittent showers, contributing to the ongoing wet conditions.
In addition to the rain, the forecast indicates that some parts of the Highlands East and West of the Rift Valley, the Southeastern lowlands, and the Rift Valley will experience cold and cloudy conditions.
Residents in these areas should also prepare for chilly weather, particularly during the night.
Kenya Met Forecast on Temperature
The forecast also shows significant temperature variations across the country.
High average daytime temperatures, exceeding 30°C, are anticipated in parts of the Coast, Northeastern, and Northwestern Kenya.

These regions will experience hot weather conditions, a sharp contrast to the cooler weather expected in other parts of the country.
Additionally, nighttime temperatures are predicted to drop significantly, falling below 10°C in some parts of the Highlands East of the Rift Valley, the Southeastern lowlands, and the Rift Valley.
The Meteorological Department advises residents in the affected areas to take necessary precautions to cope with the varying weather conditions.
Tanzania Met Warns of Strong Winds
This comes a day after the Tanzania Meteorological Authority (TMA) warned of strong winds and high waves expected in the northern coast of the Indian Ocean.

In the advisory released on Sunday, July 14, TMA predicted forecasts winds reaching speeds of 40 kilometers per hour and ocean waves up to 2 meters high.
Tanzania’s weatherman listed areas to be affected including Tanga, Dar es Salaam, Pwani (the Mafia Islands), and the islands of Unguja and Pemba.
The warning, categorized at a medium likelihood and potential impact level, will remain in effect for five days, covering the period from Monday, July 15, to Thursday, July 18.
