The County Assemblies Forum (CAF) wants the government to provide armed police bodyguards to all 4,200 Members of County Assemblies.
This follows the killing of Kisa East MCA Steven Maloba.
According to Kakamega Deputy Governor Ayub Savula, the MCA was stabbed to death following a confrontation between his camp and that of Khwisero MP Christopher Aseka.
Kakamega Senator Boni Khalwale has since condemned the incident saying killing of the MCA was due to political indifferences.

Speaking in Eldoret Town accompanied by his Deputy Seth Kamanza and West Pokot speaker Fredrick Kaptui, they condemned the incident and called for speedy investigations into the matter.
They said they will converge at the DCI offices in Kakamega on Monday to seek answers to the death of their colleague.
Nandi Senator Samson Cherargei on his part said the MCAs deserve bodyguards just like other elected leaders promising to seek a ministerial statement in parliament over the issue.
