The Ministry of Education has highlighted possible careers for Grade 10 learners as they transition into Senior School, depending on their selected learning pathways.
Under the Competency-Based Education (CBE) curriculum, language and literature form a specialized track within the STEM pathway.
The core subjects for language and literature in the track are Literature in English, Fasihi ya Kiswahili, French, Indigenous Language, and Mathematics.
The approved pathways include:
- Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM)
- Social Sciences
- Arts and Sports
At Senior School level, learners select three subjects from their chosen pathway and combine them with four compulsory core subjects: English, Kiswahili or Kenyan Sign Language (KSL), Physical Education, and Community Service Learning. These subject combinations determine the career options learners can pursue after Senior School.
