Esther Musila is a Kenyan content creator, music artist, and public figure best known for her marriage to gospel singer Guardian Angel. She was born in 1970 and has built a significant following through her YouTube channel, where she shares lifestyle content, fitness tips, and music.

Before gaining public fame, Musila had a long career in international civil service, including a significant tenure at the United Nations, where she primarily worked in programme management for UN-Habitat and handled projects related to water and sanitation in regions such as Nepal and Laos.

In addition to her civil career, Esther Musila serves as the official manager for her husband, gospel musician Guardian Angel, and is also the mother of three adult children from a previous marriage.

Early Life and Family Background

She was born on May 25, 1970, in Nakuru County, as the firstborn and only daughter of the late Morris and Loise Musila.

Her father was a statistical analyst, while her mother worked as a teacher and later for the government’s special branch.

She has one brother, Fred Musila, who was born 11 months after her; they were raised close, almost like twins.

Esther attended Moi Primary School in Nakuru, and later began her high school at Bishop Njenga Girls, transferring after one term to St. Angela’s Girls High School in Kitui.

She first studied Business Administration at the prestigious Kianda College and later earned a Bachelor of Science in International Business Administration, Accounting and Finance, from the United States International University (USIU-Africa) between 2005 and 2008.

Career Background

The mother of three began her career as an accountant at the Kenya Commercial Bank (KBC Group), serving for 5 years between 1989 and 1996.

In 1996, she made the bold choice to resign from her stable job to focus on raising her young children, a gap that lasted five years.

Esther Musila joined the United Nations Human Settlements Programme (UN-Habitat) in 2001 and has served as a Programme Management Officer over the years.

Her work has focused on Water and Sanitation initiatives across Africa and Asia, where she has played key roles in managing multimillion-dollar donor funds for projects in countries such as Nepal, Laos, and Vietnam.

Her primary responsibilities involved budget management, grant oversight, and ensuring the financial integrity of global humanitarian projects.

Since 2020, Esther has been the manager of Guardian Angel’s music career, handling his branding, bookings, and digital presence.

Through her platform, Esther Musila Foundation, she advocates for women’s empowerment and mental health, often using her “Money Monday” and fitness segments to mentor young professionals on financial discipline.

She often collaborates with her husband on gospel projects and has released several songs, including “Roho Yangu” and “Nakushukuru”.

Esther Musila’s Family Background

Esther got married to Guardian Angel officially on January 4, 2022, a date that also marked Guardian Angel’s birthday.

Their relationship initially drew intense public scrutiny due to their 20-year age gap, but they have since become one of Kenya’s most prominent celebrity couples.

Musila is known for boldly defending her relationship against online trolls, frequently using her platform to promote self-love and the idea that age is just a number.

She is a mother of 3 adult children from her previous marriage, whom Guardian is a proud stepdad to, and states that they view him as a close friend and confidant.

The couple is now serving as grandparents to Esther’s granddaughter, Xenia.

Net Worth

Although Esther Musila’s net worth is not publicly available, she earns income from various sources.

  1. UN pension schemes – based on her period of service.
  2. Artist Management receives a formal monthly salary for overseeing Guardian’s music career, branding, and an eight-person management team.
  3. Digital Content and Brand Endorsements: Musila monetizes her large YouTube and Instagram followings through lifestyle vlogging and brand partnerships.
  4. Music Royalties, earnings from collaborative gospel tracks, and her own music releases have amassed millions of streams across platforms.
  5. Investment in real estate where the couple has made significant investments and is choosing to build their family and retirement home on Musila’s ancestral land in Ukambani.
