Jambojet, a Kenyan low-cost airline, has announced leadership changes within the company.
In a notice dated November 19, 2025, the airline announced that several leaders within the organization would be departing following the completion of their tenures.
The notice stated that Vincent Rague will step down as Board Chair, while Caroline Armstrong will step down from her role as Non-Executive Director.
“The Board of Directors of Jambojet Ltd hereby announces the exit of Board Chairman Mr. Vincent Rague and Non-Executive Director Ms. Caroline Armstrong after the conclusion of their board tenure,” part of the announcement read.
Jambojet Announces Leadership Changes
According to the notice, Rague joined the board in December 2014 and led Jambojet through its formative years.
The airline credited him with providing strong and steady leadership during his tenure, guiding Jambojet through significant growth, enhancing its operational performance, and expanding its presence in Kenya and the region.

The board expressed deep appreciation for his exceptional leadership, commitment, and dedicated service to the company.
Additionally, the board thanked Caroline Armstrong for her 9 years of service and valued her contributions.
“Ms. Caroline Armstrong, who has served as a Non-Executive Director for nine years, has concluded her term. The board extends its sincere gratitude for her valuable contributions as a member of the board and as a member of the Audit and Risk Committee,” the statement noted.
After Rague’s departure, Jambojet has appointed Ayisi Makatiani as the new Chair of its Board of Directors.
“Jambojet is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr. Ayisi Makatiani, E.B.S., as the new Chair of its Board of Directors,” the announcement stated.
Makatiani brings extensive experience in corporate leadership, governance, and strategy, along with a strong entrepreneurial spirit and technological expertise.
The company believes he will help them achieve their mission to democratize flying, promote tourism, and enhance regional connectivity.
About the Newly Appointed Board Chair
The board stressed that Makatiani’s in-depth understanding of Jambojet’s founding principles and his strong focus on growth will be crucial as the airline pursues its strategic objectives and enhances its market position.
His vision includes solidifying Jambojet’s operations in the region, maintaining profitability, and enhancing value creation for the company, its stakeholders, and most importantly, its customers.
“The board extends a warm welcome to Mr. Makatiani and looks forward to the insights and perspectives he will bring to Jambojet’s next phase of growth,” the board stated.
Ayisi Makatiani has worked for a variety of notable companies across Africa, particularly in the technology, finance, and media sectors, including Africa Online Holdings/Inc, Turnkey Africa Ltd, Caava Group, Fanisi Capital, and Kenya Airways.

He holds a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and completed a minor in Economics, with his thesis done at the MIT Sloan School of Management.
He attended two of Kenya’s top schools, Maseno School for his O-Levels and Alliance High School for his A-Levels.
