Chebara Youth Polytechnic is among the institutions set to benefit from a KSh700 million development project aimed at improving learning facilities and expanding training capacity in Elgeyo-Marakwet County.
The project was highlighted during President William Ruto’s development tour of the region and is currently 65.4 per cent complete.
At Chebara Youth Polytechnic, the works include the renovation of five workshops, classrooms and the administration block, as well as the construction of a multipurpose hall and hostels with capacity for 340 students.
The investment is expected to improve the learning environment for trainees by upgrading workshop and classroom facilities, while the planned hostels will provide accommodation for students.
