Azimio La Umoja One Kenya coalition leader Raila Odinga has said that the legal process to challenge the presidential results of the August 9 polls begins on Monday, August 22.
While speaking at the Jesus Teaching Ministry church in Embakasi East, Nairobi, on Sunday, August 21, Odinga stated that they are sure they won the presidential race and that they will not reconcile with their rivals until the court rules on the matter.
Moreover, Odinga assured his supporters that he will not concede until the Supreme Court gives its verdict on the matter.
“We will conquer them and capture all they have looted. This David will follow the David of the Bible. There’s no doubt in our minds that Kenyans spoke loudly on the 9th, that voice will not be muzzled.” Odinga said while likening their quest as that of the Biblical David.
Furthermore, the Azimio boss said they are sure they won the presidential race and that they will not “reconcile” with their rivals until the court rules on the matter.
“There will be no reconciliation until the truth is known. That truth we will show starting tomorrow,” he stated, “Our spirit will not be muzzled by looters and thieves. We stand with you; we will not be swayed or intimidated.” He said.
Nonetheless, Odinga’s running mate Martha Karua said the race to succeed President Uhuru Kenyatta is far from over as they are trusting the Judiciary to deliver justice on the contention.
“The truth shall set all of us free. Without justice there can be no lasting peace and all we are seeking is justice,” she said.
On his end, Kalonzo Musyoka condemned the postponement of gubernatorial elections in five electoral seats across the country amid claims of IEBC staff intimidation, terming it unfair treatment.
“What’s happening in Mombasa, Kakamega and the four constituencies, clearly tells Kenyans IEBC has short-changed the country, no general election has taken place. The only time you can postpone an election is if there is a general emergency, intimidation cannot stop the process,” he said.

Furthermore, in the presidential results released by IEBC Chairperson Wafula Chebukati, Mr. Odinga came in second with 6,942,930 votes, behind Kenya Kwanza Alliance’s William Ruto who garnered 7,176,141 votes, representing 50.49 percent.
Nonetheless, according to the Supreme Court, the petition will then be determined 14 days from the day it was filed.
