Vihiga County Senator Godfrey Osotsi has accused President William Ruto of double speak concerning the anticipated peace talks between Kenya Kwanza and Azimio Coalition.
While appearing on Citizen TV on Monday, August 7, Senator Osotsi claimed President Ruto gives different opinions concerning the mediation talks when in the media space and contrary opinions behind the scenes.
Moreover, the legislator alleged that President Ruto is the one who invited Tanzanian President Samia Suluhu and former Nigerian President Olusegun Obasanjo to mediate talks between the government and opposition.
“He is the one who initiated the talks. He brought in President Suluhu to come and engage Raila and himself. Suluhu stayed for two days but he never showed up.” Osotsi remarked while describing Azimio leaders Raila as a statesman for showing up.
“Ruto called in Obasanjo and they had a meeting. He came out of the meeting and started playing funny monkey games.” He added.

According to the senator, the president’s inconsistency in his public and private statements was creating a negative impression among Kenyans and the international community.
“President Willliam Ruto is looking bad in the eyes of many Kenyans and that of the international community.” Osotsi said.
Furthermore, the senator expressed his disapproval of the mode in which the Head of State was addressing the opposition in his political rallies.
According to senator Osotsi, the rooftop declarations by President Ruto are beneath his stature as Head of State.
Selfish Leaders

The senator, while terming the renegade leaders as selfish, said there is a clause in Azimio allowing parties to exit coalitions after six months.
“They acted selfishly, they came and signed an agreement with Azimio and immediately after the elections because the other side wanted numbers, they went. That is Selfish.” Osotsi stated.
