Gospel artist Owen Mwaita alias Daddy Owen has given details of President William Ruto’s daughter, Charlene Ruto, visit to his rural home in Kakamega County.
In a statement on X, Daddy Owen said Charlene’s visit was the climax of the year 2023 for him.
“2023 was a good year! I thank GOD! I had so many highlights, but the climax, the pinnacle and the crowning moment came at the tail end of the year when Charlene Ruto visited my home in Eshieywe in Kakamega,” he wrote.
Further, the artist explained that the visit was celebrated with songs, dance and ululations.
“Abhashiere came with their best dancing shoes to whirl to the real isikuti made from the tough “imbulu” skin!” he said.
Daddy Owen said the celebration was marked by various Abhatsotso tradition delicacies from “amakwakwata” to “lhisebhebhe”.
“Ebhusang’ang’a village was happy, my mum was happy, she loves guests, and the guests were happy as well! So, happy 2024 to y’all!” he said.
Charlene & Owen Dating Rumors
Notably, the event which took place on December 23 sparked discussions about a possible romantic connection between Owen and Charlene.
Also, the timing of the visit during the festive season fueled the dating rumors which started in November 2023.

Daddy Owen Dismisses Rumors
However, the gospel musician has on many occasions denied rumors suggesting a romantic relationship with Charlene.
In a phone interview with Milele FM on November 8, he dismissed the rumors stating that they were just friends.
The artist explained that not every interaction with a woman should be interpreted as having romantic undertones.
“It’s not necessary that every time you see me with someone, they have to be more than a friend,” Owen said.

He dismissed the rumors, emphasizing that his relationship with Charlene was purely professional.
“Apart from being friends, we have many projects we’re working on together,” he explained.
Owen’s ex-wife Farida Wambui dumped for a richer man in December 2020.
