Kabando wa Kabando has part ways with former Azimio la Umoja One Kenya Alliance running mate Martha Karua’s NARC Kenya party.
The former Mukurweini MP went ahead and revealed quitting NARC Kenya through his social media account on Tuesday, February 7.
As a matter of conscience and principle, I have instructed @ORPPKenya to deregister I, Hon. Kabando wa Kabando, from @narckenya. I believe in leadership teamwork and honesty. I detest chicanery and corruption. I thank @MarthaKarua and wish her well in Azimio ventures.

Moreover, Kabando revealed that he has already informed the Registrar of Political Parties of his decision to leave the Azimio la Umoja One Kenya affiliated party.
According to the politician, cultistic politics is bad for democracy.
I'll continue to boldly & independently, or in league with like-minded souls, play my patriotic part to keep President Ruto's increasingly rogue regime in check. Sadly, neither ODM nor NarcK are acting institutionally in this endeavour. Cultistic politics is bad for democracy.

Kabando was clear about the utmost respect he has for NARC Kenya Party leader Martha Karua and Azimo Chief Raila Odinga. However, he noted that his decision was driven by displeasure with the avenues Azimio camp is using, as the official opposition party, to keep the Kenya Kwanza administration in check.
“My family, confidants, allies, friends, and colleagues know of my tenacious support and trust in @MarthaKarua to compliment @RailaOdinga in our elusive quest rekindle a national rainbow to crash graft and impunity. I regret we’ve lost it. Hopefully, we’ll reconnect better soon.” Stated Kabando.

Nonetheless, Kabando wa Kabando joined NARC Kenya Party in March 2022 in a bid to take over from the then Nyeri Senator Ephraim Maina who was vying for the county’s gubernatorial seat during the August 2022 polls.
