Wiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka has said supporting Raila Odinga for the third time was the right thing to do.
Kalonzo during an interview with NTV defended his decision to put on hold his presidential ambitions in the 2022 General Election to support Azimio La Umoja leader Raila Odinga.
Kalonzo also revisited a comment he made in 2021 in which he had ruled out chances of him supporting Raila. He had said that he would be “the most stupid person on earth” to endorse Raila.
During the interview, the Wiper boss stated that stepping aside to support Raila under the Azimio coalition was the right thing to do although it was termed “foolish”.
“The fool in me ended up supporting Raila for the third time, but that fool is wiser now than he was then. I am no fool. It took some painful introspection, and I brought it out before I had to sit with my brother Raila to show him in black and white what we had agreed in writing,” says Kalonzo.
Moreover, Kalonzo gave his strongest indication yet that he may be on the ballot come 2027.

“We have not sat as a party. We are going to call an executive council meeting, look at all those issues and develop a consensus. What is obvious, in the event that we are still around, God-willing, and my party nominates me to run, I will run like I have never run before,” he noted.
In addition, Kalonzo asked Kenyans to pray for him so that he is not accused of things that he has not done.
“I’ve been dragged to the mud many times and called names but I’m still here… Now the chicken has come home to roost. All those naysayers; indecisive, watermelon… those are behind us. They have gone with 2022 and you are looking at a new Kalonzo Musyoka,” he adds.
