Kileleshwa Member of County Assembly (MCA) Robert Alai has advised President William Ruto on three aspects of his leadership to avoid making mistakes.
Alai while speaking on Ruto’s countrywide meetings and government project launches suggested that the head of state should avoid roadside talks during his development tours to avoid severe consequences.
“President Ruto should avoid car sunroof and roadside meetings for the next year. Otherwise, he is causing significant issues that won’t be easy to fix,” Alai said.
The MCA explained that Ruto must also assess the status of government projects before launching them.
According to Alai, the President cannot continue to launch projects that fail to progress beyond the ceremonies he attends.
“Additionally, before launching any project, check its viability, the availability of funds, and the integrity of the project managers. You can’t launch projects that don’t progress beyond the launch plaque,” he said.
Alai on Stopping Corrupt Governors
Alai also stated that the President must personally ensure that corrupt and unpopular governors are removed from office for counties to function effectively.
He stressed that Ruto should not shield governors after MCAs pass motions of impeachment against them.
“You can’t protect governors and be at odds with the people. MCAs are not foolish to fight against some governors. Sacrifice some of the very corrupt and unpopular governors,” Alai said.
President Ruto has faced criticism for relaunching projects that he had commissioned as deputy president and others inaugurated by former President Uhuru Kenyatta and his Cabinet Secretaries.

State House Spokesperson Hussein Mohamed clarified these reports, stating that Ruto is completing the projects left by his predecessor, as promised in the Kenya Kwanza manifesto.
“It’s a mark of responsibility for a President to ensure that all feasible projects, including those that stalled before his election, are completed. This commitment is part of the pledges President Ruto made in the Kenya Kwanza manifesto, the very document that got him elected,” he said.
