President William Ruto has emerged as the top candidate in the presidential race, according to the preferred 2027 presidential election winners’ poll by Taifa Research.
Among the top seven prominent presidential candidates, Ruto was in the lead with 24% support as the preferred president.
“The 2027 presidential race remains highly fluid with no single candidate dominating national support,” the TIFA poll indicated.
Kalonzo Musyoka, the leader of the Wiper Democratic Movement (WPD), came in second with 19%, while former Interior Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang’i garnered 14% in the poll.
Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna from the Linda Mwananchi faction of the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) was in the fourth place with 10%.
Former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua was fifth as the preferred president of Kenya in 2027 with 9%, while Embakasi East MP Babu Owino was in the last place at 2%.
A further 3% was allocated to other presidential candidates, while 15% remained undecided on their presidential choice.
