Jubilee Secretary Jeremiah Kioni has explained why they have invited Deputy President (DP) Rigathi Gachagua to attend the Limuru III meeting.
Speaking to the media, Kioni said the DP and the Kenya Kwanza leaders are welcomed since the meeting is meant to discuss the problems facing Mt. Kenya residents.
Kioni stated that there has been a crisis in the region for the last two years and all the leaders must come together to find solutions.
“Some of these go beyond the things we talked about, you heard him (Gachagua) also crying the other day,” he said.
He explained that the region supported President William Ruto since they thought he would fulfill his promises if he won the election.
However, he accused the Kenya Kwanza regime of making more promises when they visit the Mt. Kenya region without fulfilling the ones made before the election.
Kioni gives other reasons why Gachagua is free to attend the meeting
Kioni slammed Ruto for relaunching and opening projects that had been launched and opened by former President Uhuru Kenyatta.
Additionally, he said the government is stalling Uhuru’s projects and has introduced taxation that have completely crippled business activities in Mt. Kenya.
“There is nobody who votes for a regime so that he can get to trouble, we always vote looking for a better life. When it turns out to be as horrible as this of Kenya Kwanza, it is only fair that people come together, and we stop thinking about many things,” Kioni said.

“Even those who misled us into this, those who were misled, we must come together as a community and think of how we can get ourselves out of this mess.”
According to Kioni, the taxes have completely ruined the agricultural sector in Mt. Kenya and across the country.
He stated that a section of businesspeople in the region are already questioning the decisions made by the current government.

Mt. Kenya residents regret supporting Ruto
Besides, he said the residents regret supporting UDA and vows not to support Ruto in the next election.
“This is Kiambu road, if you walk out here, they will tell you they will never vote for UDA,” he stated.
He claimed that the community is under attack and the region that is under siege.
“This is why it is important to call everybody there who wants to say something. The populist, the people who rely on the leaders are the ones who want to speak, because they are the ones who were lied to,” Kioni explained.
Kioni accused the Kenya Kwanza politicians of playing politics and fooling Mt. Kenya residents.
Kioni and Narc Kenya party leader Martha Karua announced the decision to hold Limuru III meeting to discuss the problems facing the region.
About Limuru III
In a past press conference, Kioni said the organizers will meet on March 7 to set an official date for the meeting.
The former Ndaragwa MP however hinted that that it can be held on April 20, 2024, if all the organizers agree.
Kioni said the meeting targets all leaders from the region, especially politicians and opinion leaders.
He clarified that Uhuru, the Jubilee party leader, is not involved in the organization of the conference but is free to attend.
“We have been invaded as a region and we want to discuss how we should stop the onslaught,” he said.

Kioni claimed that President Ruto is determined to ensure that come 2027, no one from the region will have a voice politically.
He revealed that leaders of 17 political parties from the region will attend the meeting.
The last conference of such kind, Limuru II, brought together leaders from the Gikuyu, Embu, and Meru communities and was held in March 2012.
In the conference, Uhuru was picked to succeed the late President Mwai Kibaki as the region’s leader.
