Ministry of Roads and Transport Cabinet Secretary Kipchumba Murkomen has slammed critics claiming he dismissed Kenya Airports Authority (KAA) Managing Director (MD) Alex Gitari unfairly.
Former Mukuruweini Member of Parliament Kabando wa Kabando in a tweet claimed that the ruling United Democratic Party (UDA) had plans to dismiss the KAA managing director.
“It was already in the books that Ruto’s UDA was craving to out KAA MD Alex Gitari. The excuse to sack him arrived last night,” Kabando wa Kabando’s tweet reads in part.
He also alleged that President William Ruto would not sack his men naming CS Kipchumba Murkomen and CS Chirchir who are both from the Kalenjin community.
“Rais won’t sack his men – CS Murkomen & CS Chirchir. Sacred cows uncocking whisky at KPLC, KAA. We need Ruto to succeed but he’s tribal, inept, chaotic,” he added.

Nonetheless, in a quick rejoinder, slammed the former lawmaker saying he will deal with all state departments and agencies in his docket professionally and not based on which tribe they come from.
“You are suffering from acute mtu yetu syndrome even where it is completely unnecessary. You don’t know me, I will deal with all the state departments and agencies under me professionally and I do not care about your tribe, I want results. Period!” CS Murkomen responded in a tweet,
In addition, CS Murkomen posed a challenge to Kabando wa Kabando, urging him to apply for the KAA vacant position when advertised.
The CS added that he would not hesitate to employ him if he successfully passes his interview.
“I challenge you to apply for the position of MD KAA when we advertise soon. If you convince the interview panel, I will appoint you without hesitation.” Murkomen tweeted.
CS Murkomen Makes Changes to the KAA Management
Transport Cabinet Secretary Kipchumba Murkomen on Saturday, August 26 announced major leadership changes at the Kenya Airports Authority – KAA hours after a power outage hit the country, including the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA).
KAA MD Alex Gitari was sacked and replaced in an acting capacity by Henry Ogoye who had been serving as the head of corporate planning.

In the reshuffle, Abel Gogo, the airports manager at JKIA, was moved to Mombasa International Airport while his position was occupied by Kisumu International Airport Manager, Selina Gor.
Furthermore, Peter Wafula, who was the airport manager at Mombasa International Airport was moved to Kisumu in the same capacity
