Sandra Dacha is a Kenyan actress, comedian, event MC, and content creator best known for playing Silprosa in the popular television comedy Auntie Boss.

Dacha has attracted attention for her significant weight loss after documenting her transformation from 152kg to 100kg, a 52kg reduction over one year.

Sandra Dacha, whose full name is  Sandra Anyango Dacha, was born on June 7, 1990. She grew up in Nairobi’s Mukuru Kayaba area and later lived in other informal settlements as she navigated a challenging childhood.

In July 2022, Sandra spoke about being raised by a single mother who was the family’s breadwinner. As a child, Dacha helped supplement the family’s income by selling groundnuts in bars.

She also recalled taking on different jobs after completing high school to support herself while pursuing acting.

“I remember to supplement her income, I used to hawk njugus in bars! The actor, Leonard Mambo Mbotela was one of my loyal customers. I used to make good money and I believe the whole experience shaped me to be the woman I am today,” stated Dacha.

Sandra Dacha’s Education and Early Interest in Acting

Dacha developed an interest in acting while she was still in school, and she participated in drama festivals and entertained her classmates by imitating teachers.

After completing high school, she continued pursuing opportunities in acting, and she has previously recalled working as a set-book actor and taking on other jobs, including selling chapatis, to make ends meet.

According to Sandra Dacha, her early years after high school were difficult, and at one point she lived in a mud house in Korogocho, where she paid KSh100 in monthly rent, before moving into an iron-sheet house that cost KSh200.

How Sandra Dacha Started Her Acting Career

Dacha’s first television appearance came when she was cast as an extra in The Hospital, a production by Zamaradi Productions.

She later began receiving calls for other acting opportunities, eventually leading to her breakthrough role in Auntie Boss.

Her entry into Auntie Boss was unusual because she did not audition for the role.

Sandra Dacha has explained that producer Lucy Mwangi spotted her at the Kenya National Theatre while she was rehearsing for a Luo stage play.

Mwangi was looking for an actress whose physique and personality suited the character, and Dacha was offered the role.

Role NTV and Career Beyond Television

Sandra Dacha became recognized after taking on the role of Silprosa, a bold and outspoken househelp in Auntie Boss on NTV.

Dacha reportedly won a Best Supporting Actress award at the 2017 Riverwood Awards for her role in the series.

Beyond Auntie Boss, she has appeared in other local productions, including  Inspekta Mwala, and was featured in the 2021 film Nafsi.

Sandra has also worked as an event MC, digital content creator, and businesswoman. She has also sold clothing for plus-size women, an area she said mattered to her because she wanted women to feel confident in their bodies.

Sandra Dacha’s Weight Loss Journey

Dacha’s weight-loss journey drew attention after she shared her transformation and progress with her followers on social media.

In November 2025, she revealed that she had lost 52 kg in a year, dropping from 152 kg to 100 kg.

The actress had previously explained that her weight had increased during the COVID-19 period. She said her usual weight had been around 123kg, but it later rose to 152kg.

In posts about her journey, Dacha said she wanted to return to the usual weight and felt lighter and happier as she continued with the transformation.

Sandra Dacha has publicly said she used Ozempic injections as part of her weight-loss journey.

She said she started using the injections in August 2024. In one update, she reported that her weight had fallen from 152kg to 135kg within four months.

She later continued documenting her progress, eventually reporting the 52kg reduction from 152kg to 100kg in November 2025.

Dacha has linked her decision to lose weight to a health scare.

She previously disclosed that she was hospitalized in October 2023, after which a nurse advised her to consider losing weight.

She later began taking the issue more seriously and eventually documented her weight-loss journey publicly.

“In October 5th 2023… I felt sick, went to the hospital, got tested and was diagnosed with pneumonia. The nurse pulled me aside told me it’s important if i shed some weight because i had surpassed obesity,” Dacha stated in a Instagram post.
