Britam General Insurance has partnered with the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Kenya (ICPAK) to provide more than 40,000 members with insurance solutions tailored to the unique needs of accounting professionals.
In a statement on July 16, Britam said the partnership will give ICPAK members access to a range of insurance products designed to protect their personal well-being, professional practice, businesses and assets.
The insurance cover includes medical insurance, professional indemnity insurance, motor insurance and home insurance.
Britam General Insurance Chief Executive Officer and Principal Officer James Mbithi said the partnership demonstrates the insurer’s commitment to providing customer-focused solutions that meet the evolving needs of professionals.
“Accounting professionals play a vital role in strengthening businesses, safeguarding financial integrity and supporting Kenya’s economic growth. The solutions provided through this partnership will not only protect their health and assets but also safeguard their professional practice against emerging risks. We are delighted with this partnership that will give members greater peace of mind and financial confidence,” said Mbithi.
Partnership Aims to Protect ICPAK Members from Emerging Risks
According to Britam, the partnership comes at a time when professionals are seeking comprehensive protection against both personal and professional risks.

The insurer said the partnership will give ICPAK members easier access to insurance products tailored to their needs, helping them strengthen their financial security while focusing on their professional duties.
ICPAK Chief Executive Officer and Secretary to the Council, CPA Dr. Grace Kamau, welcomed the collaboration, saying member welfare remains one of the institute’s key priorities.
“Our members operate in a dynamic professional environment that requires reliable protection against a range of risks. This partnership with Britam ensures that they have access to quality insurance solutions tailored to their needs, further enhancing the value we offer as a professional body,” said Dr. Kamau.
Britam Expands Sector-Specific Insurance Solutions
Britam said the collaboration is part of its strategy to expand insurance solutions tailored to specific sectors through partnerships with professional associations and institutions across Kenya.
The company added that it will continue developing customer-focused insurance products that help individuals, families and businesses manage uncertainty while protecting their financial well-being.
As one of Kenya’s leading financial services providers, Britam said the ICPAK partnership reflects its broader commitment to expanding access to relevant insurance solutions for professionals in different sectors.

Britam Expands Estate Planning Services
The latest initiative builds on Britam’s efforts to expand financial planning and wealth management solutions beyond traditional insurance products.
On June 17, the company launched Britam Trust Services, a trust fund solution designed to help individuals and families protect their wealth, simplify succession planning and ensure assets are transferred to future generations according to their wishes.
The service introduced two trust solutions, Britam Cash Trust and Britam Family Trust. Britam Cash Trust allows individuals to set aside funds for beneficiaries’ education, healthcare and upkeep, while Britam Family Trust enables clients to hold assets such as property, investments, businesses and cash.
Speaking during the launch at Britam Towers, Group Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer Tom Gitogo said the service was introduced as more Africans continue to build wealth through savings, property ownership, pensions, businesses and investments.
“Trusts have often been viewed as tools for significant inherited wealth. Britam Trust Services is built on a broader premise: that anyone building wealth needs a structure to protect and steward their assets. This includes the Kenyan worker, saver, business owner and family that has spent years building something worth protecting,” Gitogo said.
He added that trust funds are not exclusively for high-net-worth individuals but are an important financial planning tool for anyone seeking to preserve wealth, protect assets and provide clear instructions on how they should be managed and distributed across generations.
