The 2026/27 English Premier League (EPL) season continues this weekend, with Manchester United, Manchester City, Liverpool and Chelsea among the leading sides as they begin their campaigns.
Arsenal have already got their season underway with a 3-0 victory over Coventry City, putting the remaining EPL fixtures in focus as the weekend unfolds.
Saturday’s programme features Manchester United’s trip to newly promoted Hull City, while Everton host Crystal Palace and Sunderland travel to face Ipswich Town.
Nottingham Forest will take on Leeds United, while Brentford welcome Tottenham Hotspur in another Saturday fixture.
Sunday brings further action, with Manchester City hosting Bournemouth and Brighton taking on Aston Villa.
Newcastle United will then face Liverpool in one of the weekend’s standout fixtures, with Chelsea completing the round of matches when they travel to Fulham for a London derby on Monday.
With Arsenal already on three points, the pressure is now on their title rivals to start strongly and avoid dropping points in the opening round.
Hull City vs Manchester United EPL Early Kick Off
The weekend action begins with Hull City hosting Manchester United on Saturday, August 22, at 2:30 pm.
The match marks Hull’s return to the Premier League and gives United their first opportunity to begin the new campaign with three points.
Manchester United head into the fixture under manager Michael Carrick, while Hull will look to make the most of home advantage on their return to the top flight.
Everton vs Crystal Palace
Everton will host Crystal Palace at 5 pm on Saturday.
Palace enter the new campaign after winning the Conference League last season, while Everton will be looking to establish themselves strongly at the start of the new Premier League season.
Ipswich Town vs Sunderland
At the same time, Ipswich Town will face Sunderland at 5 pm.
Ipswich are also back in the Premier League and will begin their campaign at Portman Road against Sunderland. The fixture gives both sides an early opportunity to collect points in what is expected to be a demanding season.
Nottingham Forest vs Leeds United
Nottingham Forest will host Leeds United at 5 pm on Saturday.
Forest will be hoping to make a positive start at home, while Leeds return to the Premier League looking to establish themselves in the top flight.
Brentford vs Tottenham
Saturday’s final Premier League fixture sees Brentford host Tottenham Hotspur at 7:30 pm.
Tottenham will be under pressure to improve after a difficult previous campaign, while Brentford will look to use home advantage to start the season strongly.
EPL Sunday Fixtures
Sunday brings three matches, including two involving Manchester City and Liverpool.
Brighton will host Aston Villa at 4:00 pm, followed by Manchester City against Bournemouth at 4:00pm.
Manchester City’s match marks the beginning of a new era after Pep Guardiola’s departure, with Enzo Maresca taking charge.
The day’s biggest fixture comes later when Newcastle United host Liverpool at 6:30 pm.
Liverpool begin the campaign away from home against Newcastle, with the Reds entering a new era after Mohamed Salah’s departure and under new manager Andoni Iraola.
Newcastle will also be seeking a strong opening result at St James’ Park.
Fulham vs Chelsea
The opening weekend concludes on Monday, August 24, when Fulham host Chelsea at 10:00 pm.
The London derby will give Chelsea their first competitive test under new manager Xabi Alonso as they look to challenge near the top of the Premier League this season.
