Harambee Stars Coach Benny McCarthy has made changes to his June FIFA international window squad following the initial fixture changes involving Palestine on June 3 and Kyrgyzstan on June 6.

Among those dropped from the initially named squad on May 18 are players like goalkeeper Byrne Omondi, who plays for Gor Mahia FC, forward Job Ochieng of Real Sociedad FC, and striker Ryan Ogam, of Wolfsberger FC.

The three have been replaced by new call-ups: Amos Nondi, Kelly Madada, and Brian Bwire, following an official update released by Harambee Stars coach Benny McCarthy on June 1.

The Initial Squad

McCarthy had announced a 24-man squad earlier, which included five new call-ups at Senior National Team level as part of efforts to expand the team ahead of the AFCON 2027 qualifiers.

These are the players who earned places in the traveling squad: defender Deon Woodman, who plays for Wealdstone FC; winger Sammy Hena-Kamau, who plays for Hull City; forward Micah Obiero, who plays for Wealdstone FC; defender Sydney Agina, who plays for Stoke City; and goalkeeper Caleb Kramer, who plays for ADO Den Haag.

Preparation Plans Unchanged

The team reported to camp on Monday, 1st June, where they will hold a training session in the afternoon before departing for South Africa on Tuesday, 2nd June.

“The June International Window gives us another chance to assess the squad as we continue building a strong team for upcoming competitions,” Ben McCarthy added.

Harambee Stars Fixture Changes and New Venues

Harambee Stars will no longer face Palestine and Kyrgyzstan as earlier planned due to logistical challenges and will instead take on Lesotho in a two-legged tie in South Africa.

“Following logistical challenges affecting the initial fixtures, we will now face Lesotho in a two-legged match in Pretoria,” Coach McCarthy said.

The revised matches will be played at the Lucas Moripe Stadium in Pretoria, as Harambee Stars continue preparations and build-up activities during the international break.

Harambee Stars’ first match is set for Thursday, June 4, 2026, and the second on Sunday, June 7, both matches kicking off at 4 PM EAT.
