The Kenya Meteorological Department (KMD) has predicted that several regions across the country will continue to experience rainfall between April 15th and 21st, 2025. In its weekly weather forecast, Kenya Met said certain regions will experience isolated heavy rains during this period.
These regions include some parts of the Highlands West and East of the Rift Valley, including Nairobi, Lake Victoria Basin, South-Eastern lowlands and North-Eastern Kenya.

Average daytime (maximum) temperatures of more than 30°C will be experienced in the Coast, North-eastern and Northwestern Kenya.
The average minimum night-time temperature will be less than 10°C in some parts of the Highlands East of the Rift Valley, the Central Rift Valley and around Mt. Kilimanjaro.

Morning rains are expected over few places, giving way to sunny intervals in the Highlands West of the Rift Valley, the Lake Victoria Basin, and the Rift Valley.
Afternoon showers and thunderstorms are likely to occur over several places; with night showers expected over a few places occasionally spreading to several places.

Counties in these regions include Nandi, Kakamega, Vihiga, Bungoma, Siaya, Busia, Baringo, Nakuru, Trans-Nzoia, Uasin-Gishu, Elgeyo-Marakwet, West-Pokot, Kisii, Nyamira, Kericho, Bomet, Kisumu, Homabay, Migori and Narok Counties.
North-western Kenya
Morning rains as well as afternoon and night showers and thunderstorms are likely to occur over a few places in Turkana and Samburu counties.
The morning rains may occasionally spread to several places.

Kenya Met Forecast for Nairobi & its Environs
The Highlands East of the Rift Valley, including Nairobi County, will experience cloudy mornings with light rains over a few places, giving way to sunny intervals.
Afternoon and night showers and thunderstorms are likely to occur over a few places, occasionally spreading to several places.
This region includes Nyandarua, Laikipia, Nyeri, Kirinyaga, Murang’a, Kiambu, Meru, Embu and Tharaka-Nithi counties.
North-Eastern Kenya
Kenya Met predicts morning rains as well as afternoon and night showers and thunderstorms over a few places.
The morning rains may occasionally spread to several places.
Counties in this region include Marsabit, Mandera, Wajir, Garissa and Isiolo.

South-Eastern Lowlands
This region includes Machakos, Kitui, Makueni, Kajiado and Taita-Taveta counties as well as the inland parts of Tana-River County.
Morning are likely to be cloudy in these counties with light rains over a few places, giving way to sunny intervals.
Afternoon and night showers and thunderstorms are likely to occur over few places.
Coast
Morning, afternoon and night showers are expected over few places.
It includes Mombasa, Kilifi, Lamu, and Kwale Counties as well as the coastal parts of Tana River County.
