The Kenya Meteorological Department (KMD) has issued a weather forecast for the week of July 23 to 29. Kenya Met is predicting continued rainfall and chilly nights across several regions.
According to the seven-day forecast, residents in the Highlands East and West of the Rift Valley, the Lake Victoria Basin, the Central Rift Valley, and North-western Kenya should prepare for persistent rain.
Intermittent cold and cloudy conditions are also expected over the Highlands East and West of the Rift Valley, the South-eastern lowlands, and the Rift Valley.
These areas will experience a noticeable drop in temperatures, with average night-time lows dipping below 10°C.
Kenya Met on Temperatures
“Average night-time (minimum) temperatures will be low (less than 10°C) over some parts of the Highlands East of the Rift Valley, the South-eastern lowlands and the Rift Valley,” Kenya Met stated.
However, the coastal and northeastern regions will continue to experience scorching daytime temperatures, making for a stark contrast in weather patterns across the country.

This forecast comes as a stark contrast to the high daytime temperatures expected in the Coast, North-eastern, and North-western regions, where temperature levels are set to soar above 30°C.
The Meteorological Department advises residents in the aforementioned areas to take necessary precautions to cope with the varying weather conditions.
Additionally, residents are encouraged to stay warm and take care on the roads, as the combination of rain and low temperatures can lead to slippery conditions and reduced visibility.
