The Kenya National Highways Authority (KeNHA) has invited interested bidders for the sale of motor vehicles, Obsolete, Surplus and unserviceable items in 23 regional offices and centers through public auction.
According to the Authority, bidders around its headquarters can visit Corridor A office, Off Athi River/Namanga interchange, Next to Mavuno Church and Opposite LapTrust Fund Garden to view the items.
“Viewing dates will be from 24th January 2024 from 9:00 am to 4:00 PM during the weekdays prior to the auction,” said KeNHA.
In Nairobi region bidders should visit KeNHA-Nairobi region Machakos road and Industrial area while those in Lower Eastern the viewing site will be at MOTI Machakos, KeNHA building, Makutano-Kitui Road and Machakos.
Interested bidders can also view the products at Athi river weighbridge station at Mlolongo trading centre along Athi River Machakos-Emal road in Mavoko Sub County.
The auction in the four regions named above will be conducted on February 1, 2024, at 11:00am at the KeNHA headquarters viewing centres.
In addition, auctions for regions around Isinya weighbridge, Juja Weighbridge and Corridor will be conducted on February 8 at the KeNHA headquarters viewing centers.
“To obtain bidding number, interested bidders for Motor Vehicles must deposit a refundable fee of Ksh 60,000.00 per Vehicle, Ksh 50,000 for the weighbridge scrap and containers per lot and Kshs. 5,000 for other lots in cash to KeNHA at the Cash office at the Auction Centre by 9:00am before being allowed to bid,” said the Authority.
Central, Northeastern & Upper Eastern
Viewing in the Upper Eastern region will be held at KeNHA building in Isiolo, Central region at Ministry of Roads Building in Nyeri Town and Northeastern region at the Ministry of Public Works in Garissa Town.
Auction in the three regions will be conducted on February 9 at the viewing station in Nyeri Town.
“The successful bidder must pay 25% of the purchase price in cash or deposited in KeNHA Bank Account provided in the catalogue at the fall of the hammer and the balance to be paid within 14 days,” read the notice.

KeNHA Coastal Regions Auction Stations
Kenyans along the Coast should visit MOR&PW Main building in Mombasa Town to view the items while those in Mariakani Weighbridge should visit Mariakani weighbridge station in Mariakani Town.
In Mtwapa, the products will be viewed at Mtwapa Weighbridge station near Mtwapa Creek, Kilifi County while bidders while in Dongo Kundu Weighbridge the exercise will be conducted at Dongo Kundu Weighbridge station along Mombasa Mariakani A8 road.
At the same time, the auction for the three areas will be held at MOR&PW Building on February 12 at 11:00am.
“Payments will be made in cash to KeNHA at the Cash office at the Auction Centers by 9:00am on the auction date before being allowed to bid. The successful bidder must pay the balance of the purchase price in cash or deposited in KeNHA Bank Account provided in the catalogue within 14 days after the Auction,” added the notice.
Rift Valley Region
Auction for regions around South Rift, North Rift, Corridor B, Gilgil Weighbridge and Suswa Weighbridge will be held on February 13 at 11:00am.
The viewings will be held as follows: South Rift at provincial public works building in Nakuru, North Rift at Sugunanga, Corridor B at former public works office resealing unit, Gilgil at Gilgil Weighbridge and in Suswa at Suswa Weighbridge.
“Reservation have been made for Youth, Women & Persons with Disability. The sale is subject to reserved prices and the goods are sold on as-is-where-is basis,” wrote KeNHA.

Nyanza & Western Region
In Nyanza region viewing will be held at MoPW Building in Kisumu and at Rongo Weighbridge along Kisii-Migori road.
On the other hand, the products can be viewed at Ministry of Roads Building in Kakamega and Webuye Weighbridge in Bungoma for the Western region.
The auction for the products in Nyanza and Western will be held at the Kakamega viewing station on February 14 at 11:00am.
“All interested bidders are required to continually check the Kenya National Highways Authority website: www.kenha.co.ke for any addendum (s) or clarifications that may arise before the Auction date.”
KeNHA further said the other conditions of sale are attached in the catalogue.
“Catalogues containing details of the items to be auctioned may be downloaded from KeNHA website or PPIP Procurement portal: www.tenders.go.ke free of charge,” added the Authority.
