Fox News Censors Trump’s Vulgar Remark in Sharp Attack on Democrats Over Inflation

President Donald Trump went after Democrats on Friday, May 22, for trying to pin high prices on his administration, even as his second term passed the 16-month mark. But when he delivered one of his sharpest lines at a rally in New York’s Hudson Valley, Fox News viewers didn’t hear the full force of it.

The network bleeped out part of Trump’s attack as he spoke to a crowd at Rockland Community College.

Trump accused Democrats of blaming him for costs that started under the previous administration.

He pointed to everyday items like eggs and said the real problems came from Joe Biden’s time in office.

Trump noted that the Democratic spin on inflation and affordability problems persisted after he took office in January 2025. “They’re trying to make it look like it’s my fault,” he said.

Trump’s Vulgar Language Censored

Trump used strong language to label Democrats as artists at shifting blame, a language that Fox News chose to censor in its broadcast.

“The Democrats are the ones who caused all the costs,” he said. “They would constantly come out with the word ‘affordability.’ I said they’re the ones that caused the problem.”

“I’m in office two days, and the costs have gone through the roof under four years of Sleepy Joe or Crooked Joe — or both — Biden.” “They’re the greatest ‘bulls** artists.’”

That moment came at an event supposed to be about the economy and tax cuts. Trump appeared alongside Rep. Mike Lawler, the Republican congressman fighting to keep his seat in a competitive district.

The White House billed the visit as a chance to highlight Trump’s tax law from last year, especially the big increase in the state and local tax deduction that helps people in high-tax states like New York.

Trump praised the tax changes, saying they delivered real relief. “I cut your taxes, cut the taxes on workers, families, small businesses,” he said.

He listed breaks for families and businesses and reminded the crowd that Democrats voted against every one of them.

The expanded SALT deduction, now up to $40,000, was a key win for Lawler, who pushed hard for it during negotiations.

Lawler, wearing a red “Mr. SALT” hat, stood beside the president and later told reporters the changes meant bigger refund checks for his constituents, sometimes $5,000 to $20,000.

Trump called Lawler “fantastic” but also joked that the congressman had been a “pain in the as*” when lobbying for the higher deduction.

He also wandered off script and talked about voter identification, crime in cities run by Democrats, and transgender women competing in sports.

He tried out “Dumocrats” as a new nickname for the opposition party and asked the crowd what he should call Biden. At one point, the president complained that basic toiletries were being locked up in pharmacies, thus complicating the simple act of shopping.

Trump said his team worked quickly to fix problems inherited from Biden, claiming some costs, like eggs, had already come down. He promised more drops in energy prices ahead.

An AP-NORC poll released this week showed only about one-third of Americans approve of how Trump is handling the economy, down from 40% early in his term. Gasoline prices have climbed this year, partly tied to the war in Iran.

Lawler faces a tough reelection fight in November in a district that Kamala Harris won in 2024.

He is one of just three House Republicans in seats that leaned Democratic at the presidential level.

More than 5,000 people signed up to attend the event in the first 12 hours after registration opened.

The White House described it as an official event, not a campaign stop, though it clearly served both purposes with the midterm elections approaching.
