APA Insurance was formed after the merger of the general insurance businesses of Apollo Insurance Company and Pan Africa Insurance.

With a combined experience of over 100 years (Pan Africa – 1946 and Apollo – 1977), APA has become the largest insurance firm in Kenya and the most innovative in product offering.

APA Insurance underwrites General Insurance risks such as Motor, Agriculture, Marine, and Micro Insurance. We also underwrite Individual and Family Health Insurance.

Their Products provide customers with peace of mind, helping both businesses and individuals to return to the same standing following a loss or other unfortunate event.

APA Insurance Plans

Here are some of the insurance plans available at APA Insurance.

Bima Bamba Motor Plan

Bima Bamba is a one-of-a-kind comprehensive motor insurance plan designed to ease your financial strain by letting you pay your annual premium in monthly instalments.

To make things even easier, it comes bundled with free benefits, so you don’t have to worry about extra details.

Product Summary

  • Your annual premium is spread equally across 12 monthly payments.
  • You’ll receive reminders when a payment is due.
  • A 3-day grace period is provided from the due date.
  • If a payment is not made, the policy will be cancelled 14 days after the missed due date.
  • You may reinstate the cover by settling all outstanding payments. A one-month no-claim waiting period will apply.
  • In case of a claim, the full annual premium must be cleared before the claim can be processed.

Motor Private Cover

Motor Private insurance protects the insured against loss if the motor vehicle insured is involved in an accident, burnt, stolen or third-party liability arising from use of the insured motor vehicle.

What It Covers

This cover takes care of a wide range of risks that a motorist may suffer in the process of using his/her vehicle.

  3. Theft/partial Theft cover.
  4. Third-party liability cover for bodily injury & property damage.
  5. Windscreen cover.
  6. Entertainment system cover.

  8. Courtesy car/ loss of use cover.
  9. Excess protector.
  10. Political Violence & Terrorism cover.

Home Insurance (Domestic Package)

It is a package of insurance policies that provides cover against risks present in your private dwelling. The cover is a combination of both Material Damage & liabilities. In this regard the following key perils are included:

  1. Fire & Special perils.
  2. Explosion, Riot & Strike.
  3. Impact damage by vehicles or animals.
  4. Burglary & theft.
  5. Accidental breakage of fragile items.
  6. Injury to domestic servants.
  7. Liability to occupiers or owners.

The policy provides cover to homeowners against accidental loss or damage to their property caused by the following perils: Fire & lightning, explosion, earthquake, storm & tempest, riot & strike, malicious damage, theft, bursting and overflowing of water tanks, apparatus, pipes and impact by road vehicles and animals, objects falling from aircraft or aerial device.

Afya Nafuu

Their Afya Nafuu health cover caters to everyone in your family, from a term baby born at 38 weeks to an adult 80 years of age.

Under Afya Nafuu, the policy covers:

  • Cover for Pre-Existing, Chronic, Psychiatric, congenital and HIV/AIDS including related conditions.
  • Countrywide Provider Network.
  • Overseas inpatient referrals covered on credit under-listed hospitals.
  • Cover for inpatient dental and optical treatment.
  • Post-hospitalisation benefit.
  • Funeral expenses benefit.
  • Free Personal Accident benefit for the Principal member.

Maternity Cover

The maternity cover takes care of:

  • Normal delivery including professional fees, labour and recovery wards for all plans.
  • Cost of delivery, and other related ailments and complications including ectopic pregnancies, miscarriage, etc.
  • Cesarean section delivery including professional fees, labour and recovery wards.

Funeral Expense Cover (Pumzisha)

Pumzisha helps ease the financial burden by providing a lump sum payout within 48 hours to cater for funeral expenses.

This cover ensures a dignified send-off without added financial strain.

Upendo Life Plan

The APA Upendo Life Plan is a simple, open-ended life insurance cover designed to provide financial protection to your loved ones in the event of your unfortunate demise. It is available to adults aged between 18 and 60 years, with the maximum entry age set at 55 years.

In the event of death due to illness, accident, or natural causes, the plan pays a lump sum benefit of Ksh 100,000 to your beneficiaries, provided the policy is active at the time of death.

One of the key benefits of the plan is a 50% cash back of the total premiums paid—amounting to Ksh 1,200—after every 12 months without a claim. This cash-back reward can be withdrawn in full or used to cover half of the premiums for the next policy year.

The policy term is flexible and ranges from 5 to 10 years, giving you the freedom to choose what suits your needs best.

  • Monthly: Ksh 200
  • Annually: Ksh 2,400
