How to Access Fuliza Services Using Different Ways

Fuliza has grown to become one of the most widely used digital overdraft solutions among Kenyans, providing quick access to emergency funds whenever needed.

The product is offered by Safaricom in partnership with NCBA Bank, with Safaricom acting as the access channel and NCBA as the lender.

According to Safaricom’s half-year financial results released in November 2025, 9.1 million Kenyans actively use the Fuliza platform.

Fuliza enables users to complete transactions even when their M-PESA balance is insufficient, including sending money, paying bills (Lipa Na M-PESA), buying airtime, or paying for goods and services.

It also facilitates seamless payments, with any shortfall automatically covered—up to a user-specific limit —so the transaction can proceed without topping up the account.

For business users, Fuliza ya Biashara allows Lipa Na M-PESA till owners to access overdrafts (up to a set limit) to complete payments even when the till balance is low.

How to Check Your Fuliza Eligibility

To access Fuliza services, you must first check your eligibility by opting in.

To check if you qualify for Fuliza, you must first opt in:

1. Dial *334# on your Safaricom line.
2. Accept the terms and conditions.
3. You will receive an SMS confirming your eligibility and indicating your Fuliza limit, or informing you that you currently have a zero limit.

How to Check Your Limit

1. Dial *334#
2. Select Fuliza M-PESA
3. Choose Check my Limit
4. A message will later appear on your screen with your limit displayed.

How to Access the Overdraft Facility Through the M-PESA Toolkit

You can access Fuliza directly through the SIM Toolkit on your phone:

1. Open the SIM Toolkit (or Safaricom menu).
2. Select M-PESA.
3. Navigate to services such as Send Money, Buy Airtime, or Lipa Na M-PESA (Paybill, Buy Goods and Services, or Pochi la Biashara).

If you have insufficient funds or only a small balance, you will receive a prompt asking whether you want to use Fuliza to complete the transaction.

How to Access the Product Via the USSD Code (*334#)

Another easy method is through the USSD menu:

• Dial *334#, which gives you access to the full M-PESA menu, including Fuliza.

• This menu functions similarly to the SIM Toolkit and allows you to use Fuliza for any transaction where your balance is insufficient.
