The Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) has issued a final reminder to all PIN holders with an income tax obligation to file their 2025 Income Tax Returns before the filing deadline of midnight on Tuesday, June 30, 2026.
In a notice dated June 29, 2026, the Commissioner for Micro and Small Taxpayers thanked taxpayers who had already filed their returns and urged those who had not yet done so to submit their returns immediately to avoid the last-minute rush.

The tax authority emphasized that the filing deadline will not be extended, making June 30 the final day for eligible taxpayers to meet their annual tax filing obligation.
The Commissioner warned that taxpayers who fail to file their 2025 Income Tax Returns by the due date will be liable to the applicable penalties under the law.
It further stated that late filers may also be subjected to default tax assessments in accordance with the relevant tax laws.

KRA Rules Out Extension for 2025 Tax Returns Filing Deadline
The Authority ruled out any extension of the deadline for filing 2025 Income Tax Returns, urging taxpayers to submit their returns before midnight on Tuesday, June 30, 2026.
In a statement on Saturday, June 27, KRA called on all taxpayers with an income tax obligation who have yet to file their returns to do so immediately, warning that there will be no grace period beyond the statutory deadline.
The tax authority noted that while millions of Kenyans have already fulfilled their obligation by filing their returns, those who are yet to comply should avoid waiting until the final hours to prevent delays caused by increased traffic on digital platforms.
“There will be no extension of the filing deadline. All returns must be submitted on or before 30th June 2026, in accordance with the law,” the authority said.
