A middled-aged woman was on Sunday, January 14, found dead in the Kasarani area, Nairobi, in what is suspected to be yet another case of Airbnb murder.
According to police in the area, the body of a middle-aged woman was discovered inside an Airbnb located around the Thika Road Mall area with some body parts chopped off and stuffed in a polyethene bag.
A team of detectives stationed at the Kasarani Police Station confirmed that investigations into the cause of the death had commenced with the major focus being on the CCTV cameras mounted in the area.
Meanwhile, the body of the deceased was still lying at the scene pending evacuation.
The case added to recent cases of homicide reported to have occurred inside Airbnbs amid growing security concerns.
Elsewhere in the Kasarani region, a body of a naked woman was on Saturday, January 13, discovered in a river around the Lucky Summer area.
As per a police report, the body of a middle-aged woman was found stashed in sack and with stab wounds on the neck which were apparently inflicted on the deceased before her death.
Nairobi Police Commandant Adamson Bungei confirmed the death noting that the body was transferred to the City Morturary pending more investigations.
At the time, the hands and legs of the woman were tied which initially concealed the body as a luggage.
According to the police, forensic investigations including post-mortem, and collection of fingerprints would take place to aid in the unearthing of the circumstances that led to the death.
The two incidents came barely a week after news about the murder of Starlet Wahu, a socialite, broke.
