In the operation, police were tipped off by a member of the public about a shop in Ichuga Trading Center, which was allegedly dealing in the sale of cannabis. Following the tip-off, police raided the shop and discovered 92 rolls of bhang, stuffed into a chocolate pack under the counter.
The shop owner and another person in the shop were both arrested. Through further interrogation of the shop owner, police found out that he owned a rented residential house associated with the suspects. When they went to the house, they found another suspect who was preparing rolls of cannabis sativa for selling.
Following another search in the house, seven hundred and eighty-four rolls of cannabis sativa were recovered, out of which six hundred and ninety-two were found in the house.
The authorities also seized about twenty-one kilograms of raw bhang, five mobile phones that were allegedly used to coordinate the sales, and some rolling equipment, which was believed to have been used to package the drugs.
