More details have emerged in the case of Meru blogger Daniel Muthiani alias Sniper after Interior Cabinet Secretary (CS) Kithure Kindiki revealed how a suspect in his case lured him to a meeting moments before his death.

In his submissions before a Senate session, Kindiki said Sniper was at his home on December 2, 2023, when he received a call from a man named Vincent Mureithi alias Supuu.

According to Kindiki, the caller asked Sniper to attend a meeting town to reportedly make amends with Governor Kawira Mwangaza. Key on the agenda of the meeting, Kindiki added, was to discuss the differences between Sniper and the Governor with an aim of ending his frequent social media attacks.

“On December 2nd, 2023, the deceased was at his home when he received a call from one Vincent Mureithi alias supuu, who requested to meet with him at Meru town to attend an alleged meeting with the governor of Meru County to discuss their differences, so that the deceased could stop attacking her on social media,” he said.
