Controversial content creator Andrew Kibe, who has gained notoriety in Kenya for his provocative online commentary, has a backstory that few people know.
Recently, Daniel Wabala Wesonga, a pastor and publisher, spoke exclusively to Nairobi News about Kibe’s early days and how he helped the young man find solace in God.
According to Wesonga, they met years ago when the aspiring content creator approached him seeking guidance on certain aspects of the Bible. Wesonga took him under his wing as a pastor at Faith Chapel, and they began worshipping together at a church in Lang’ata.
Eventually, they opened a church, with Wesonga as the pastor, Kibe as the chairman, Robert Burale as another pastor, and Rozina Mwakideu as a praise and worship team member. Wesonga even baptized Kibe.
However, Wesonga stopped Kibe from becoming a pastor, telling him his time had not yet come. Despite this setback, they relocated to India but returned to Kenya bankrupt.

Amid their struggles, Andrew and Wesonga started producing content, and Kibe was eventually hired by NRG radio, where Wesonga worked as a producer. Kibe’s personal life, however, was in shambles as he went through a divorce, and his first wife died of depression.
Despite Kibe’s controversies, Wesonga describes him as a responsible father who hustles to care for his family. He also says that Kibe’s mother is a prophet and a servant of God and that Kibe’s on-screen character is just a persona they created.
Andrew has since relocated to the US, reportedly due to damaging his brand with some of his controversial comments. Despite this, Wesonga says they are still on good terms.
Today, Wesonga runs a publishing company in Kenya that published a leadership book titled “Rediscovering Pearl Servanthood.” Andrew, meanwhile, continues to produce content and maintain a strong following on social media.
