Renowned political mobilizer and celebrated poet Joseph Kubende has died under mysterious circumstances.
Detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) are working to uncover the circumstances leading to his untimely demise.
Mr. Kubende, who had recently returned from the United States of America, was scheduled to leave the country today, March 24, 2023. DCI detectives stationed at the scene are trying to determine what happened to Mr. Kubende before he was rushed to Radiant Hospital in Pangani, Starehe Sub-County in Nairobi, where he, unfortunately, passed away. They are particularly interested in discovering whether Mr. Kubende was alone during the incident.

The news of Mr. Kubende’s death was first announced on Facebook by his close friend, Mr. Justus Misiko, who revealed that the family was working to transfer Mr. Kubende’s body to the Kenyatta University Teaching and Referral Hospital morgue.
Mr. Kubende was a political mobilizer, a celebrated poet, and a professional teacher of English and Literature. He had taught at several tertiary institutions, including the Kigali Institute of Education in Rwanda. Mr. Kubende was also a talented author, with several novels, such as Ancient Pot of Gold and In Search Of Gold, available in bookstores nationwide.
Just four days before his death, he had shared photos on social media, celebrating his birthday and asking for divine guidance. His passing has left many in shock and mourning, with his contributions to the literary and political world remembered fondly. The circumstances surrounding his death remain under investigation as DCI detectives work to unravel the mystery.
