Renowned UK-based content creator Shorn Arwa couldn’t contain her excitement as she embarked on a quest to satisfy her Kenyan matatu cravings on Tuesday, 23, 2024.
Sharing a glimpse of her arrival at the airport terminal with the iconic Magical Kenya sign on her Instagram Story, the content creator expressed both exhaustion and elation, emphasizing how much she missed the vibrant energy of Kenya.
Despite not catching a matatu immediately upon her arrival, Shorn Arwa confidently declared that she would soon embark on the matatu adventure she longed for.
In a playful tone, she even sought suggestions for the best matatu route, asking, “Between Umo and Rongai, mat gani kali?”
The inspiration for Shorn’s matatu quest stemmed from TikTok, where she discovered the beauty of Kenyan matatus.

“I was on tiktok the other day and saw something about how Kenya has very beautiful matatu’s.
Instantly I started craving a matatu ride. It’s been almost 10 years, manze,” she shared on her Instagram story.
Taking her followers along for the ride, Shorn documented her journey from the decision to book a flight to Kenya to the moments before departure.
Capturing a picture of her husband, she humorously questioned her decision, “So I booked a flight to Kenya later on… At this point, I was questioning myself, ati naenda Kenya kupanda matatu.”
As she bid farewell to her husband at the airport, the content creator shared behind-the-scenes glimpses, including her suitcase being tagged and handled by attendants.
