Elburgon Secondary School’s History
Elburgon Mixed Secondary School was established in 1950 as a pre-school institution for the Asian community in Elburgon.
In 1966, members of the Asian community donated the institution to the African community in a ceremony officiated by President Jomo Kenyatta.

After the handover, the institution was renamed Michinda School, and later Elburgon Harambee Secondary School.
In the year 2000, the school changed its name to Elburgon Secondary School.
It operated under the former 7-4-2-3 education system before transitioning to the 8-4-4 system.
The school has now transitioned into the Competency-Based Education (CBE) framework.
