The Council of Legal Education (CLE) has published the latest institutional licensing status for universities and colleges authorized to offer law programs in Kenya as of December 31, 2025.
The update, issued under Sections 2, 6(1), 8, 19, 20, 21, 22, and 48 of the Legal Education Act, provides clarity on institutions permitted to teach law at diploma, bachelor’s, and master’s levels.
Master of Laws (LL.M) Programs
Only four institutions are accredited to offer LL.M programs in Kenya.

The Bachelor of Laws program remains the most sought-after qualification for aspiring advocates.
