The Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service (KUCCPS) has issued guidance to applicants on how to retrieve their Payment Reference after making payments during the application process.
In a statement on April 23, KUCCPS clarified that the Payment Reference is the account number entered during the payment process, and not the M-Pesa transaction code.
“Looking for your Payment Ref. after paying for the KUCCPS application? Your Payment Ref. is the account number you keyed in during payment. You can retrieve it from your MPESA payment message. Be sure to pick the account, not the MPESA code,” read part of the statement.
Applicants who may have misplaced the reference number can check their M-Pesa confirmation message, which indicates the account number used for payment.
KUCCPS further urged applicants to retain their M-Pesa messages, noting that the information may be required when making changes or verifying application details on the system.
